Spinning off an idea I shared with them during a summer workshop, they decided to use sticky dots during their lesson in a way I have never seen. Sticky dots are so versatile - so many different ways to use them in the classroom. To encourage greater use of ending punctuation marks, they provided each student with a strip of 3 white sticky dots on which they had previously drawn colored punctuation marks (period, question and exclamation.) Students were directed to try to use all three in their writing assignment.
Students were so motivated to use the sticky dots! What a simple way to add some tactile input and increase engagement with a skill!
Thanks, Kari and Kelly, for sharing.
